Introduction

The oppression of men is extremely complex to understand. It has been hidden, disguised, indirect, innumerous, severe, carefully conspired and going on for thousands of years. Above all it's carefully and forcibly unacknowledged.

Today, it would be seen as 'startling' and 'unbelievable' at the best and outright 'ridiculous' and 'scandalous' at the worst to talk about man's oppression.

But we have seen this oppression and once you see it --- it's so overwhelming an experience that this social world ceases to have any meaning. Being a man, you cannot live normally, knowing that such extreme persecution exists for your race. Trying to understand this oppression easily becomes the sole purpose of your life.

It's not easy to see even the misery and pain of men, even when it is extreme. It is so well hidden not only from the world but from the man himself. It's just not acknowledged. No place for it in the society. No value for a man's tears. Tears are 'feminine'.

It will take extraordinary efforts and insight to see the pain in the first place. But even when you do see it (which is a life transforming experience) you are absolutely at a loss to understand how it is brought about and who is responsible. It is again all too complex and hidden.

The mechanisms of man's oppression are just as invisible as his tears. Once you are sensitised and you learn to look beyond what is 'obvious' --- you slowly start witnessing it all. And it's mind boggling.

The first things that point to the size and nature of these invisible mechanisms are the extraordinary and intense pressures that the society (or rather a section of it) exerts to sustain or strengthen the mechanisms. The enormity of these efforts --- which are the only visible part of these mechanisms --- is enough to tell you of the enormity of the conspiracy. It's definitely no mean thing. After all persecuting the most powerful human gender cannot come easy. You could not have achieved it using physical force. That is why whoever caused it invented such intricate and cunning mechanisms and has managed to keep it so under wraps.

The oppression of men and the enormous misery it causes do not exist in isolation. They are deeply interconnected with everything that is going wrong in this world. From the ruthless destruction of nature to mindless religious violence, and everything in between --- they are all related.

It is also important to understand this relationship, to expose it and to address the root of the problem.

It is only through demolishing the mechanisms of male oppression that we can solve most of this world's human-made problems.

Every social system, however inhuman always benefits some people. They are the ones who keep it going. It is extremely important to find out who the vested interests are that benefit from the oppression of men. What benefits do they beget? Where do they derive their powers from? Powers to subdue the most powerful human gender! How do we get the power back from them?

We don't have the answers to many of these questions yet. But we have made significant headways in solving some of the other major strings. The important thing is that we are asking, and when minds come together answers will themselves emerge.

The mechanisms of man's oppression are not only enormous --- they are extremely complex --- like a huge ball of tangled threads. To understand this mechanism we need to disentangle each thread very carefully. It's also like a complex puzzle game that needs to be put together. And it is not an easy task by any standards.

For individuals to disentangle this mess will take several lifetimes. But if men get united the entire mechanism can be undone in just one generation. The catch is that uniting men in itself is a Herculean task --- the mechanism has also taken care of that. But when its time comes no one will be able to stop it from happening.

And perhaps the time is here. For many men have devoted their lives, working in isolation in different corners of the world. They are/ were the unsung heroes who kept the flame alive inspite of tremendous odds and no support whatsoever --- even from men. Today however, things are changing. Many developments have forced men to a corner. A corner where the man has only two choices --- either to fight back, which will be the first significant time since it all started thousands of years ago, or to give in completely and loose his freedom and dignity for ever.

The need of the hour is for all these individual unsung heroes to get together and organise their acts. The need is also for the common man to join this fight in full earnest.

We intend to unite men to fight back as one force. It will take real men, dedicated and self-less men to make this possible. This site is an attempt to organise these warriors.
